STUDENTS WILL DESIGN AND CREATE NEW PRODUCTS TO MAKE THE WORLD MORE ENERGY EFFICIENT.

COMPLETE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS. EACH OPTION IS WORTH THE SAME NUMBER OF POINTS. YOU WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO SUBMIT WORK AND GET POINTS FOR ONE OPTION.

OPTION 1: Explore energy issues in the developing world
Students will choose a nation from the developing world, examine its energy-related issues and offer a solution to one of these issues.

OPTION 2: Explore energy issues in Canada
Students will examine energy-related issues in Canada, explore a new innovation in renewable energy production and offer a solution to an existing issue using this new innovation.


LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this activity, students:

  • will better understand a variety of renewable and non-renewable energy sources
  • will have developed a more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly product
  • will be able to present their product in a persuasive manner
