Lesson Plan

Students will record the amount of garbage produced by their class or school and will try to reduce it.

There is only one option for this challenge.

Please complete the challenge by determining how many kilograms (kg) of trash you can save. When you hit “submit,” your savings will be added to the total savings on the Classroom Energy Diet Challenge homepage.

Learning outcomes
By the end of this activity, students:

  • will understand the importance of sorting their trash properly
  • will understand the different types of trash and the appropriate disposal for each type
  • will have accurately measured and weighed garbage to record data
