Lesson Plan

STUDENTS WILL DISCUSS VARIOUS FORMS OF TRANSPORTATION AND EXAMINE WAYS TO IMPROVE THE ENERGY-EFFICIENCY OF TRANSPORTATION IN THEIR COMMUNITY AND THROUGHOUT CANADA.

COMPLETE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS. EACH OPTION IS WORTH THE SAME NUMBER OF POINTS. YOU WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO SUBMIT WORK AND GET POINTS FOR ONE OPTION.

OPTION 1: Compare and contrast public transportation in Canadian communities
Students will investigate public transportation in their community and compare it with that of another Canadian community.

OPTION 2: Compare and contrast public transportation in global cities
Students will research three world cities and compare the public transportation systems of each.


LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this activity, students:

  • will have discussed the advantages of sustainable public transportation
  • will have compared public transportation systems in different communities
