Our class planted Lima beans, green beans and zucchini, first in paper towel, and then in soil. We planted them in egg cartons because we thought that this was a good way to reuse something, and that the egg carton can break down in the earth. We added a photo of our composting worms to this picture, because we can also use the soil from our worms to help our plants grow. We hope that adding these plants to our classroom we will improve the air quality because plants breath in carbon dioxide and give us oxygen. We also learned about how when the plant uses the sun to make food, we get our energy from the food, so we also get the sun's energy too.
