Our class created a dinner plan (that they even went home last night and tried to cook) with ingredients only found within a 30 km radius. Living in a farming community definitely helps. Most of my students have had gardens in the summer months, live on grain farms or cattle ranches, and are all familiar with what is available in our region. After brainstorming through the food categories, the students pieced together a meal only using our list. They also had to list the instructions as best they could.
