More food, less fuel

Next time you’re at the grocery store, keep a lookout for products with excessive packaging. Make it a habit to avoid those products, especially those that come in plastic containers that you can’t recycle. 

Purchase fewer processed foods. Fresh food is not only healthier, it also doesn’t travel as far or require additional energy to manufacture. 

Buy more certified organic foods. These are grown locally, using more sustainable practices, fewer chemicals and less fuel in transit. If you buy locally greown food, you support your local farmers and cut down on fossil fuels required for transport.
