The countdown is on!

The households have been working hard since September and making leaps and bounds in reducing their energy use and promoting energy awareness within their homes, communities and across Canada.

With such a short period of time left for voting, we think it’s a good time to remind everyone about how the winning household will be determined:

30% based on the results of voting by the public on the Challenge website

20% based on the Participants’ overall energy reduction as measured by the data submitted to the Challenge energy dashboard (an online program to track overall energy consumption).

30% based on the quality and quantity of blog postings and videos contributed to the Challenge website as well as the quantity of positive media coverage featuring the Participants as determined by the judging panel.

20% based on the Participants’ ability to apply innovation and creativity to make lifestyle changes to reduce energy consumption as determined by the judging panel.

With this in mind, every household still has a chance at the grand prize, but they need your help!

Be sure to follow the households on Twitter and Facebook and keep up with @CanGeoEDC on Twitter and Facebook. Continue to checek the Energy Diet Challenge website for exclusive tips, tricks and information about reducing your energy use.

Remember, voting closes on Sunday, December 4th. Until then, you can still vote once a day for your favourite household!

And, you can still go on an energy diet of your own using our online Footprint Calculator and the Personal Energy Dashboard.
