We discussed where are energy comes from. The students were shocked to hear that most of the energy we use comes from non-renewable energy. We then discussed ways that kids used energy during their leisure time. I then challenged them to give up a device for as long as the kids could handle. We recorded these hours in a google form.

As a class we came up with a definition for "smart mobility". We then watched the video clip provided in the challenge and then discussed the methods of smart mobility within. Some of the methods were foreign to the kids so we needed to have a discussion. For an activity I had the kids research a method of "smart mobility". They then used this to create their word cloud art.

As a class we discussed ways in which energy is wasted in our homes and school. We then brainstormed ways to reduce this. For this assignment students created one slide that showed how to reduce energy and what the benefit of this is. These were displayed on our school announcements.

How Big Are Your Carbon Feet?

Description

As a class we discussed what a carbon footprint was. Students then were given examples of common household items and were asked to think out how owning or using one of these thing could contribute to their carbon footprint. We then went over an online carbon footprint tool as a class and discussed what each step meant. To wrap up this project, each student in class complete the carbon footprint calculator. I then asked them what were three things they could do to reduce their footprint.
