Description
Students used https://www.footprintcalculator.org to calculate and understand their carbon footprint. They worked to design a footprint which included their current footprint and at least one commitment they could do to reduce their impact on the environment. Finally, they calculated the average carbon footprint of the entire class.

Description
Students joined together in small groups to create board games matching the theme of food waste. Many of tips and strategies to reduce food waste are contained within the trivia cards of these students developed games. To take it one step further, these board games proved useful during times our class spent without power!

As a class we brainstormed ideas on things we could do reduce our energy consumption as we sat in our classroom. Students recognized that each classroom and school is different but, that there were a couple simple things they could do right away. Small actions can have an impact, but when many take on those small actions it can make a big difference.
