Description

We had a class discussion on energy/devices that are needs and wants. Students gave up a device for 24 hours and reflected on what it was like to not have to use that device.

Description

We turned off the lights and didn't use our chromebooks whenever we could in order to get to 15 hours no power.

We watched the video Earth 2050 and discussed what could happen in the future with regards to our energy usage. We then created a google document with energy related concerns we had about the future. Students wrote a letter to their future selves in 2050 describing their current concerns and asking themselves an energy related question.

Description

We had a class discussion about recycling, composting and garbage and then discussed how we can limit the number of items we throw away in the trash. Students then completed the worksheet (with help from home if needed).

We had a class discussion about using local ingredients to make our meals and how it is better for the environment to do this. We created "What's for Dinner?" slideshows that included an appetizer, main meal with side and a dessert using local ingredients.
