During our virtual eco-club meeting, we shared this challenge. We talked about sustainable transportation and asked students to create a poster for our bike to school week in May. Each week, we give a small prize for those who complete the challenge. Simone was the winner for this challenge.

I introduced this challenge during EcoClub and classroom reps took the challenge back to teachers and classmates. Various classrooms completed the challenge and times varied. I took an average for the hours went without power.

The Phantom of the Classroom

Using Jamboard, we added images of things that use electricity. We watched the video about Phantom Power. I modelled how to create a map using Google draw and students created a map of a room in their own house. We ended our club meeting with a Kahoot about Climate Change.

Today in Eco-club we watched a video about food miles, then a video about how banana are grown and transported to our local grocery stores. We discussed food waste and food miles. We shared what we had for lunch and researched where are food came from. Attached is the google slides that students created during our club meeting.
