Get Growing

Completed

Description

Students learned about photosynthesis in Science class, and the role they have in the carbon cycle. Participating students shared their experiences and photos of plants they grow at home. It is too early for us for outdoor gardening, but some students enjoy indoor gardens/microgreens.

How Big Are Your Carbon Feet?

Completed

Description

We learned about the carbon cycle in science. For this challenge, students and the teacher tried a carbon footprint calculator. We learned that if everyone on Earth lived the way we do, we would need more than one planet to support us. Then students learned about ways people can reduce their impact on the environment, and made “footprint” posters to share ways they can reduce their carbon footprint.
